Another casualty of the partisan rancor in Washington has been the inability of Congress to develop a plan for affordable, accessible healthcare.
The costs for families and small businesses to either get insurance or provide insurance is simply unacceptable.
Congress needs to develop a market-based approach that ensures access to affordable healthcare for all Western New Yorkers. We must all look at ways to lower the cost of healthcare through medical malpractice lawsuit reform and increasing healthcare IT development.
Unfortunately, if Congress doesn't develop a comprehensive, market-based approach to healthcare than Western New York families and small businesses are going to pay for it through higher taxes, higher premiums and less access to healthcare.
